Hotel Transylvania 2 – Review
Who doesn’t like Halloween? The creepy monster holiday is packed with fun decorations, scary movies and awesome costumes. It’s a great time for not only children, but adults as well. My kids love this time of year as much as me and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to take them to see the new animation movie Hotel Transylvania 2, a followup to the first 2012 hit. If you have seen Hotel Transylvania, then you won’t want to miss this film.
Without going into too much detail about the first film, Hotel Transylvania is pretty much just like it’s title. There is a hotel in Transylvania bolstered with freaky monsters and ghouls with the owner Dracula (Adam Sandler) leading the charge. The film follows Dracula’s daughter Marvis (Selena Gomez) who falls in love with a human named, Jonathan (Andy Samberg). Dracula struggles with the matchup, but eventually warms up to the idea.
In Hotel Transylvania 2, the cast and crew return and time has progressed. Marvis and Jonathan are now married and have a baby named Dennis. Dracula is more than excited for the new arrival and is a very involved grandparent. During the film Marvis worries if the Hotel is any place to raise her newborn. She considers moving with her new life to California with Jonathan’s family. Dracula makes every attempt to convince Marvis she belongs in the Hotel with him because Dennis will be a vampire.
The movie is packed with comedy and is perfect for every family to see. Hotel Transylvania 2 is your Halloween fix and will fulfill your holiday needs. The cast for voiceovers are fantastic. The film was written by Adam Sandler and Robert Smigel, and Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky. I strongly recommend taking your children to see this film.
