2020 Model Tampa Bay International Auto Show Review

There’s a giveaway!

Rules to enter are below.

It’s that time of year! The annual car show in downtown Tampa displaying the latest of what the upcoming year is bringing into the market! I have to tell you, besides Comic-Con this is one of my favorite events to come to the convention center yearly. I parked 3 blocks away to make sure I wasn’t caught in all the traffic craziness and also for the price. When I arrived with my wife we saw that the line to enter was well organized and there was plenty of security to make sure no cars would be leaving the premises unauthorized. The staff was friendly and the center was maintained. I have to give a quick shout out to the event coordinators who were present and made the process of attending seamless. With that said, if you haven’t yet attended and feel that maybe this type of event isn’t for you, its a ONE STOP SHOP for information on any vehicle you are potentially interested in purchasing.

As I previously mentioned, one of the reasons I love the Tampa Auto show is due to the accessibility to all the makers and models from vehicles I am interested in purchasing or have read up on. Life happens, so my wife and I decided it was time for a new car!!! Let me give you all a quick background: We have been driving a 2016 Kia Sportage for the past few years and it’s been good to us, but we wanted something better in gas! My wife and I have a few unique situations going on. FIRST, we commute roughly 60 to 70 miles a day for work. Second, my wife is a 5’9, 200+ pound beauty! Third, we aren’t rich!

So we have been spending some time at the dealerships on any given weekend to see what sales are going on, what’s on the lot and what’s the best vehicle out there to fit our needs. However, if you’ve been to the dealerships; just to get an oil change is a tedious task! Having to talk, tell them straight up, “I just want to browse” but at the same time I want to see the inside of the vehicle. So here we have the reasons why #TAMPAAUTOSHOW is the best one-stop-shop! In coming here, we saw hundreds of beauties! (A lot of which, I’ll never be able to afford). Below are just some of the sweet rides we came across. This is definitely a convention you all need to experience for yourselves.

2020 Corvette Stingray

2020 Dodge Challenger RT

2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye

2020 Nissan 2020 GT-R premium

2020 Acura MDX starting at $157,500

2020 mustang Shelby

2020 Ford F150 Shelby

2020 Ford F150 Black ops by Tuscany edition.

2020 Subaru BRZ starting price $28,845

As you may have noticed below, Toyota and Ford (EXCLUDING THE SHELBYs) didn’t have anything that blew me away. Additionally, any other automaker there that I did not touch on (Lexus, Infinity, Jaguar, etc.) I felt that these vehicles had nothing esthetically pleasing, as such, I didn’t add them to this review, but to each their own.

Well, good news folks! In speaking to some of the representatives they disclosed that starting 2021 all vehicle makers will have some option for either fully electric or hybrid vehicles! Also, due to federal regulations and mandate, all carmakers will need to have an average of 54.5mpg for their passenger and light trucks. The unfortunate thing is the Trump administration has eased some of these requirements set by the Obama administration but in speaking to a lot the makers it looks like they are still striving to achieve this goal. Below were some electric highlights we came across at the convention.

The 2019 KIA Niro PHEV EX Premium – 105MPGe starting price $35,200

Hyundai Kona 258 EV starting price $36,990 or Loaded $45,000

A major pro from Hyundai was any Hybrid and Electric Vehicle (EV) battery is covered for life for only the original owner! As a side note, I want to mention if other auto manufacturers offer this incentive we were not made aware by any of their representatives.

RONNIE SETSER’S CUSTOMS:

Much to my surprise, I came across a whole section for Ronnie Setser’s Customs. I remember going to his car shows 20 years ago and hula hooping with the other kids. I remember him having long black hair and in seeing him and his work now, I’m still amazed by his art! The love he shares for his trade and his family gave me a whole other perspective. He told me he’s been granted a whole new life and it’s been two Thursdays. While speaking with him I couldn’t help to admire the love he’s got for this life of cars and family. It was a good time
