The Croods: A New Age

WOO HOOO! Seriously, who watched part 1 again? I DID! I have been waiting for something fun in 2020 and here it is! Whether you watch it in your home or at the theaters THE CROODS is filled with crude humor that we at Review Junkies can’t get enough of!

Let’s start with the nice recap from the previous movie (for those of you who don’t have the time to re-watch the first movie) from SEVEN YEARS AGO! If you don’t have the time to catch up, no fear even if you didn’t watch the first one you really don’t need it, the “gist” is reasonably easy to follow, a prehistoric, cave family is living in dangerous times and they meet this guy, named GUY, who ultimately encourages the family to seek a new life. The only daughter in this family falls for Guy and the father isn’t happy about it.

In the latest installment of The Croods, the story continues with the family wanting something more than just trying to survive, while the father is only focused on his little girl wanting to leave the nest, consequently causing him to accidentally find what the rest of the family was seeking, a new world! However, within this new world, the Croods must now share it with a new “modern” family who has their own agenda.

I am loving the back story they provided for Guy! I am also appreciative of the soundtrack, I think “I LOVE YOU” is actually one of my favorite songs! I can see a lot of themes being addressed in this movie but one of the most evident ones is that of women and empowerment! I laughed SO HARD with “Gran”, she really shines in this movie! I definitely saw A LOT of sides to Gran! The kind that makes you LAUGH OUT LOUD! Hahaha

I am almost convinced there will be a part 3 because I can see there being an extension to the family! OR even a back story to Gran! I would love it all and I CANNOT WAIT!
