Close to losing everything, and soaked in desperation Maddie (Jennifer Lawrence) agrees to date a wealthy couple’s introverted son hoping to get him out of his shell before college.
Jennifer Lawrence really shines as Maddie and spotlights her comedic timing in this raunchy, and awkward comedy. Andrew Barth Feldman is a surprise in this film as I’m not really familiar with his work however he nails the absurdity of the character perfectly.
The film is what you would expect from a 90s/ early 2000s comedy yet somehow is refreshing in this modern comedy era. It pulls no punches and leans into the cumbersome chemistry of our two leads.
The film was a fun in and out comedy with little to no downside. The humor hit on multiple levels from Un comfortability, to outright side-splitting antics.
Definitely one of the best comedies offered within the past few years and would make a great date night movie
This would be a great film to see in the theaters as there is not much competition at this time.
